This is a worksheet on reviewing the "Note values" we worked on so far. It's pretty easy.
You just need to add up the value of each note and write the total number of beats it receives. For example:
a quarter note(1 beat) + a quarter note(1 beat) = 2
a quarter note(1 beat) + a half note(2 beats) = 3 etc.
Instructions:
Download the pdf file, print it, do the exercise and send a photo of your worksheet in my email

26.10.20: 28th october national celebration songs
Dear students,
Good morning. Due to the current circumstances we will be teaching online. Remember that you can find my contact information under the "CONTACT" window in weebly.
For today's lesson I have prepared some Greek songs about the anniversary of the 28th of October. Since national celebrations cannot take place in the school this year, it's a good opportunity to have an idea of some songs we usually sing and dance to on this occasion.

18.5.20 - 21.5.20: STRING INSTRUMENTS-2
In this weeks' lessons we will deal further with the string instruments that are used in Greek traditional music, as well as in traditional Cypriot music.
*Feel free to share your musical instrument (to perform or just to show it) with the whole class once again!

11.5.20 - 14.5.20: String Instruments
This week we are exploring the String family of instruments, one of the families that we studied few months ago. But this time we are looking at string instruments that do not belong to the symphony orchestra. Instruments that are used worldwide and especially those that are used widely in Greek music!
6.5.20 - 7.5.20: beat and rhythm - 2
Today we will do some listening examples about rhythm recognition.
4.5.20: Beat and rhythm
In this week's lessons we are reviewing the difference between the Beat and the Rhythm in music.
This can often cause confusion, but is essential to be able to recognize Beat and Rhythm.
The beat is the steady pulse that you feel in the tune, like a clock’s tick. It’s the beat you’d naturally clap along to, or tap your foot to.
The rhythm is the actual sound or time value of the notes, which in a song would also be the same as the words.

29.4.20 - 30.4.20 : DYNAMICS IN MUSIC-2
Today we will solve the dynamics worksheet together and then we'll listen to some songs for dynamics recognition.
27.4 : Dynamics in music-1
Dear students, welcome back to our online lessons! I hope you all had a wonderful time with your families during the Easter holidays.
Today we are reviewing the dynamics that are used in music. The dynamics of a piece is the variation in loudness between notes or phrases. We use several Italian terms and signs to express these dynamics, as we learned in the past. Today we are reviewing those we already know and then we'll proceed to the next level!
Classwork:
-Download the "Dynamics" sheet (don't print it) and we will explain everything during the lesson.
-Download and print the "Dynamics worksheet Cl.3" and you'll work on it during the lesson.
Once you've finished the worksheet send a photo of it to my email :)

Today we are going to play "Eighth notes" on notes B and A.
Remember that a quarter note is equal to 2 eighth notes. This means that whenever you see eighth notes you count "1 &" instead of only "1". So you have to play 2 notes in one beat.

*In addition to our previous lesson (Merilly we roll along) on the recorder, you could also try to play the song on any "metallophone or Xylophone" app that you can download on your laptop/tablet/i pad. You need to play the exact same notes (on these apps the note names:A,B,C etc. are written on the bars of the instrument, so it's easy to find how to play). Again you can send a recording of yourself playing the song on the app
12.3.20 - 16.3.20: Recorder: merilly we roll along
Watch these 2 videos on how to play this simple song on your recorder. The song uses only the 3 notes that we've learned so far (G=Sol A=La, B=Si) and the values that you know.
I'm providing you with a pdf document on the note values and a recorder notes chart. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lq0P6rt5LMg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFG6nYfppLU You can try and make a recording of yourself playing and send to my email address, so I can give you a feedback. You can always ask me anything you want through email. *Remember: you need to practice for 5 min.,2-3 times per week ;) |
